Stoker Pulls An Arnold: "I'll Be Back"

In an e-mail he sent out to his supporters today, Mike Stoker, the Republican candidate for State Assembly who lost to Das Williams on Tuesday, says he will likely try again in 2012.

"I have made the decision that I am definitely going to run for Assembly in 2012 should the new district be (re)drawn to essentially be Santa Barbara County." He says he definitely will not run should the boundaries of the district remain as they are.

The 35th District as currently drawn includes Ventura and Oxnard where he lost to Williams by over 13 percent. He figures he could have won the race if the district included the Santa Ynez Valley where voters favored him over Williams 70 percent to 30 percent.

Political pundits have been speculating that when new district is drawn, southern and northern Santa Barbara County will be included in the new 35th District and Oxnard and Ventura will be excluded.

If and when that happens, I'm sure Mike will be tanned, rested and ready.
