Most uplifting story over the weekend was found in the Santa Barbara News-Press about Robert Alley, a homeless guy who rescued a woman from a burning car.
And it wasn't even the first time Alley had done a good turn. Two and a half years ago he found a $30,000 ring and did the leg work to get it returned to the owner.
The article is locked behind the newspress.com pay wall, but you can read most of it on the front page image of the paper, which is available for free.
The Indy's annual "Local Hero's" edition is due out the day before Thanksgiving. This guy gets my vote.
And perhaps the critics of the Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter ought to take the time to read the article as well.
