The start of December brings another casualty at the News-Press. According to my friends over at Noozhawk, this time it's business reporter Tom Risen.
You might remember Risen as the young journalism graduate who placed a craigslist ad back in August looking for housing and mentioning the fact that he was moving here to take a job with the News-Press.
Back then he acknowledged the "drama" that had been going on at the paper but opined that it was "dying down" and that his position as a business writer would be drama free.
Don't know if his brief stint here was drama free or not but it was certainly short lived if in fact he's been shown the door.
He hasn't had a bylined story in the paper since the day before Thanksgiving although he was seen in the newsroom as recently as last Tuesday.
I'm not going to be the one to tell him "I told you so" but you should feel free to.
And any of you out there who were betting that Risen wouldn't make it until the end of the year, I think it's safe to collect on that bet now.
