Why are the Kardashians famous? At this point it seems like that question has become some inside American joke that can only be answered by the response, "I don't know?" Let me take a stab at this. Maybe the Kardashians are famous because they've done nothing. When a new episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" premieres each week millions tune into watch. What do they tune in for? Maybe it's the pretty faces, the expensive clothes, or probably the drama.
As humans by nature I think that we subconsciously want some sort of recognition for what we do, no matter what it may be. The problem is that a lot of the time we have to make sacrifices to achieve accomplishments that garner that kind of attention. However, at least this is the way I see it, the Kardashians didn't need to do that. They seemed to have achieved everything, while doing nothing. My theory is that maybe that's what a lot of people on some level wish they could do, garner all the fame and fortune while not having to have really done a whole lot to achieve it.
People tune into their show to fantasize about having a life of luxury without the effort. Maybe in some ways the Kardashians are making a new definition of "The American Dream." However I hope it only exists in "The Kardashians' America". Hey, E Network, a new Kardashian spinoff show!
Keep it Real.
