The debate this coming Monday, (May 3) between Josh Lynn and Joyce Dudley, candidates to be Santa Barbara's next district attorney, is on again, sort of, after having been cancelled.
According to an e-mail I received Saturday morning from local attorney John Thyne, the Santa Barbara County Bar Foundation will host a District Attorney Candidate Town Hall Meeting on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the lower level of the Santa Barbara Public Library. Fifty minutes will be allocated to each candidate (6:10 pm – 7:00 pm; and 7:10 pm – 8:00 pm) and the likely presentation style will emulate an "Inside the Actor’s Studio" format with Thyne being the interviewer.
Dudley has confirmed she will attend from 6:10pm – 7:00pm. Lynn has not yet confirmed his attendance but the 7:10 to 8:00 pm time slot is being held for him.
So, this will not be a head-to-head debate but rather one is which each candidate appears successively to answer questions.
Actually, since we've already had three head-to-head debates, this new format might be a nice change.
