Latest newspaper circulation numbers were released on Monday for the six-month period ending March 31 of this year. I have learned that the figures show that for the Santa Barbara News-Press, Monday through Friday average circulation declined by 3,486 copies, going down to 31,575, compared to 35,061 a year earlier. Sunday circulation showed a decline of 3,834 copies and was 31,362 compared to 35,196 a year earlier.
That is roughly a ten percent decline in each case.
Nationwide, the figures released Monday showed a decline in print circulation of more than 7 percent compared with the previous year.
